The watch went into effect Monday, July 25 at 1:05 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m.
Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area beginning at around 1 p.m., the National Weather Service said.
"The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in one hour," the weather service said. "Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, locally 3 inches are possible."
Wind gusts of around 65 miles per hour are expected with the strongest storms.
